Classic Boat Feature

Thank you to Classic Boat for the recent article they published featuring Sailcargo. The feature where they talk about our work and the winder mission can be found in the July Edition: “The Second Age of Sail”.

As regulations begin to tighten and the illustrious ´carbon tax´ draws closer, Classic Boat explores the potential for sailing cargo to take over and projects taking full advantage of that opportunity.

The author, Sandy Miller points out: “Shipping produces nearly three percent of all global emissions. Noisy engines cause bio-acoustic pollution, ballast water movements impact local ecosystems with invasive species, containers now litter the oceans following accidents, ships are broken up and left to decay in fragile environments, and iron ore needs mining, with all the related impacts.”

We believe that wind-driven propulsion is the best alternative for this destructive industry.
