AMBASSADORS VISIT SAILCARGO SHIPYARD
Punta Morales, March 23, 2022 -The Canadian Ambassador to Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Honduras, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams and the Costa Rican Ambassador to Canada, Mr. Mauricio Ortiz, visited the shipyard of SAILCARGO INC. on March 18th to discuss mutual areas of collaboration in sustainable business development.
On this occasion, the diplomats toured the shipyard in Punta Morales, Puntarenas and held a meeting with the directors of SAILCARGO INC. in which they shared the progress of the company and of the construction of their first ship Ceiba.
Ambassador Williams expressed that it was very motivating to witness the strength and courage of a team that wants to make a change in the world. She stated “this is not seen every day and we want to generate partnerships so that more projects like this can emerge.”

As well, Ambassador Ortiz expressed that it is necessary to generate spaces and mechanisms that promote the development of projects even more when they are aligned with the priorities and environmental profile that Costa Rica has in the world.
The meeting was also attended by the First Secretary of Political Relations of the Canadian Embassy, Mrs. Hanna Wajda, the Executive Director of the National Forestry Office, Mr. Luis Felipe Vega and the Manager of Forestry, Industry and Commerce, Mr. Sebastián Ugalde, accompanied by Juan Bolaños, Manager of CRC and Felisa Cuevas, Researcher of the University of Costa Rica.
John Porras, the Corporate Director of SAILCARGO INC., expressed his gratitude for the openness of both diplomats and for the great support SAILCARGO INC. has received in recent years from the respective countries.
Last year SAILCARGO INC. also received the visit of the former Canadian Ambassador, Mr. James Hill, who left his position at the end of 2020.

EMBAJADORES VISITAN SAILCARGO PARA APOYAR PROYECTOS DE DESARROLLO SOSTENIBLE
Punta Morales, 23 de marzo del 2022 - La embajadora de Canadá para Costa Rica, Nicaragua y Honduras, la señora Elizabeth Williams y el embajador de Costa Rica para Canadá, el señor Mauricio Ortiz, visitaron el pasado 18 de marzo las instalaciones de SAILCARGO INC. con el objetivo de generar oportunidades de mutua colaboración en materia de desarrollo y negocios sostenibles.
En la oportunidad, los diplomáticos realizaron un recorrido por las instalaciones del astillero ubicado en Punta Morales de Chomes, Puntarenas y sostuvieron una reunión con los directores de SAILCARGO INC. en la que compartieron sus impresiones sobre el avance de la construcción de su primer velero de carga Ceiba.
Para la embajadora Williams, es muy grato y motivante presenciar la fuerza y el coraje de un equipo que quiere lograr un cambio en el mundo, esto no se ve todos los días y queremos generar alianzas para que más proyectos como este puedan surgir.
“Hay un impacto enorme no solo a nivel comercial, sino además comunitario tomando en cuenta al medio ambiente, oportunidades de desarrollo y empoderamiento de la mujer.” explicó Williams.
Por otro lado, para el embajador Ortíz, es necesario generar espacios y mecanismos que propicien el desarrollo de proyectos aún más cuando se alinean con las prioridades y perfil ambiental que tiene Costa Rica en el mundo.
En el encuentro también participó la Primer Secretaria de Relaciones Políticas de la Embajada de Canadá, la señora Hanna Wajda, el Director Ejecutivo de la Oficina Nacional Forestal, el señor Luis Felipe Vega y el Gestor de Silvicultura, Industria y Comercio, el ingeniero Sebastián Ugalde acompañados por Juan Bolaños, Gerente de CRC y Felisa Cuevas, Investigadora de la Universidad de Costa Rica.
El Director Corporativo de SAILCARGO INC. expresó estar muy agradecido con la apertura de ambos cuerpos diplomáticos y el gran apoyo que han recibido los últimos años.
El año pasado SAILCARGO INC. también recibió la visita del ex embajador canadiense, el señor James Hill, quien dejó su cargo a finales del 2021.
